Apple Bid For Injunction Against Amazon Rejected

Amazon is getting approval to continue using the name “App Store.”

The ruling by a U.S. District Court judge comes after Apple filed a trademark lawsuit, arguing the online retailer improperly used the software giant’s App Store name.  The judge also did not side with Apple as it sought a preliminary injunction against Amazon.  Judge Phyllis Hamilton ruled Apple did not establish “a likelihood of confusion” with Amazon’s services to warrant an injunction.  Hamilton has set a trial date on the matter for October next year.
