An Israeli minister is calling on Apple to remove an app promoting a Palestinian uprising against the nation.
Public Diplomacy Minister Yuli-Yoel Edelstein has written a letter to Apple CEO Steve Jobs asking him to take down the Arabic-language app “ThirdIntifada” from its iTunes store. The app offers news streams and announces upcoming protests against Israel. Edelstein says the app could, quote, “unite many toward an objective that could be disastrous.”
Edelstein says the app’s developers opened a page on Facebook recently with a similar agenda. Facebook removed the page after Edelstein submitted a complaint to the social networking site.
