Facebook is about to beat Yahoo in online display advertising.
Internet research business EMarketer reports Facebook will capture about 18 percent of all display advertising. Yahoo is expected to get about 13 percent and fall from first place. The numbers mean Facebook will sell about two-point-two-billion-dollars worth of display ads this year. Facebook and its nearly 700 million users are increasingly popular with Coca-Cola, Adidas and other huge brands. Google is expected to net about nine percent of the display advertising market.
