Amazon.com e-book sales are outpacing paper versions.
The company reports electronic books are selling at about five-percent ahead of hardcover and paperbacks. Amazon also reports strong sales for its new lower-priced Kindle e-reader. The company says the 114-dollar unit introduced last month is outselling all other Kindles. Amazon’s nearest Kindle competitors are the Apple iPad and Barnes and Noble’s Nook. The Kindle is the top-selling digital book reading device.
