Google is sporting an out-of-this-world new logo today.
The Internet search engine giant has released the winning artwork for this year’s “Doodle 4 Google” contest, with a space-inspired doodle winning the top prize. The celestial doodle is the work of San Francisco second-grader Matteo Lopez of Monte Verde Elementary School. Google product management vice president Marissa Mayer says Lopez’s doodle “artfully depicts a trip to space, walking on the moon and even making friends with aliens.” In addition to having his artwork grace the Google website, Lopez will receive a 15-thousand-dollar scholarship for college. Meanwhile, his school will receive a 25-thousand-dollar technology grant.
