Internet giants Facebook and Google are each reportedly pondering alliances with online video phone service Skype.
A source says Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has held internal discussions about acquiring Skype. Another source tells Reuters that Facebook has expressed interest about a joint venture to Skype. That source mentioned that Google has also explored a joint venture with Skype. The news comes as Skype has postponed an initial public offering until the second half of this year. Figures from Skype reveal the service had more than 120-million connected users a month in June of 2010.
