Nintendo is working on a new version of its Wii video game console.
The company isn’t giving many details about the device, but Nintendo’s CEO says it will, quote, “offer a new way of playing games within the home.” The original Wii introduced in 2006 offered uniquely interactive gameplay made possible by a motion-sensitive controller that detects movement in three dimensions. Nintendo has sold around 86-million consoles worldwide. Gamers will get their first look at the new Wii on June 7th at the E3 video game expo in Los Angeles. The game system is scheduled to hit store shelves in 2012.
