Nintendo may be preparing to unveil a new game console at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
“Game Informer” magazine confirms Nintendo is working on a new home console that’s capable of high-resolution graphics. There’s no word on how the console’s performance will compare with the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. “Game Informer” cited one anonymous source who says Nintendo is “doing this one right,” adding it won’t be “a gimmick like the Wii.” This year’s E3 expo will take place June 7th through the 9th.
Nintendo recently released the 3DS, a handheld 3-D game system that doesn’t require glasses. Sony is looking to cut into the DS handheld market share with a new device called the NGP. There’s no word on when the NGP will be released.
